Visitation. n. The instance of being visited. A visit of affliction or of comfort and blessing regarded as being ordained by God. A calamitous experience or grave misfortune. The appearance or arrival of a supernatural being.
The images presented in this show explore the dual nature of memory: its persistence and its fragility. These are quiet scenes of people and objects that dwell only in our psyche. They make their presence known by seeping in through the crevices of the mind and making themselves visible. They are momentarily clear and soon they are departed, swept away by the racing wind of the mind.
We all house many visitors. Some are familiar and some unsettling. This exhibition is a testimony of a number of visitations that remain to be shared by others.
