Model Horses
Model Horses Sculpted by Deborah McDermott
In 1990 I took a class in bronze casting. I was inspired by photographs of Edwin Bogucki's Arabian horse sculptures in Arabian Horse World magazine. The class required a wax sculpture to cast, I didn't have one, and I didn't want to cast just anything, so I sculpted a horse. I never did finish it in time for the class. That first sculpture titled "Light My Way" was just the beginning and soon thereafter I was sculpting my neighbor's stallion the famous Arabian Fame VF. Many editions of bronze horses have since been completed. Current projects include a life size bronze edition of the tiny bronze foal "Grace". The first resin edition Romantic was completed in 2002. I am currently active in the model horse hobby through my web site www.galleryofhorses.com where I share my model horse resins with collectors. What's on my mind...
