Elise Hurst
Elise Hurst is a full time fine artist and professional illustrator and children's author.
Specialising in portraiture, figure study and urban landscape, her fine art is realist in style with a strong sense of colour and design.
Primarily self-taught, her style and methods in fine art have spilled into her illustration work. Here she employs her artistic theory with the freedom of design peculiar to book illustration. In this work she has come to traverse many styles and media, and a broad range of subjects. Her illustration has featured sumi styled works, science fiction and fantasy, botanical works and illustrations for all types of children's stories. She works in oils, black/white charcoal or pencil, watercolour or pastel - all depending on the needs of the text.
Her work is on view at her new website which contains a gallery of works, online illustration folio, art for children, details on commissions, and a selection of original art and her books for sale.
