Ubuntu is a Zulu concept which is difficult to briefly describe. Helping, community, hospitality towards strangers are part of ubuntu, yet there is so much more to the concept of ubuntu. As you care for others you bring wholeness to yourself is ubuntu. There is much more to the practice of ubuntu, and I am just learning the concept, if you know of ubuntu and can tell me more about it please do. My Church ( Episcopal ) asked for logos of ubuntu and this was my contribution. I made my work into a Christian cross but the concept of ubuntu is embraced by many religions. I thought when I made my work of the various faiths that embrace ubuntu and how different icons could be used.
