Member Newsletters and Anti-Spam upgrades

We have done some significant upgrades to the site this week. Among those are sophisticated mail filters that each member can apply to their account to control the type of content that can be posted to their email and/or guestbooks.

The more exciting upgrade is the anticipated Member Newsletter upgrade. This new upgrade allows each member of the site to maintain a database-driven newsletter subscription list. Each member may now send out up to two (2) email newsletters to their own newsletter subscribers in any thirty-day period.

Members must first read our newsletter policies before they get this privilege. Failure to abide by the terms will result in immediate denial of this powerful tool. We ask that members who want to use it first read our rules and then familiarize themselves with how the system works.

You can learn more about this function when logged into the site.

We have also upgraded the event system on the site. Events may now have an "End Date" if the event spans multiple days. The new "Fixed Location" checkbox is the field that turns the map generator on or off--meaning that when unchecked, events no longer need a city or street address, which may be appropriate for regional events.
